LISTEN: Crooked Teeth Releases "Landslide"

Bay Area rock trio Crooked Teeth are continuing their prolific output of hard-hitting alt anthems with their new single “Landslide,” available to stream now on all DSPs worldwide. The track is Crooked Teeth’s second release of 2023, following a banner year in which they received consistent support from SiriusXM’s Octane and performed at So What? Festival, Welcome to Rockville, and Aftershock festivals. The song was directly inspired by Blink 182’s self-titled album as well as Box Car Racer. “Landslide” is also guitarist Emma Oakley’s debut as a lead vocalist in any of the band’s songs.
In support of the single, the band will open for The Summer Set and Grayscale at Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on April 6th as well as dates in May supporting Killboy. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
“For me, ‘Landslide’ holds such a special spot on the new record for a few different reasons,” says band founder Tyson Evans. “As I grow older and move deeper down the lane of my career path in music, I have felt this immense pressure that I’ve made the wrong decision in chasing my passion because it doesn’t necessarily have an orthodox model like the careers of my parents, educators, coaches, and pastors hoped I’d chase. In America, it seems like many people are still caught in this keeping-up-with-the-Joneses capitalist mindset where wealth signifies success and any deviation from that formula is a failure or questionable at best. My music has saved me and helped me through so much in my life that I truly believe I’m supposed to give that back to the universe.”

Crooked Teeth started in early 2017 simply as an outlet for founding member Tyson Evans with no grandeur vision in mind other than to make music as a form of catharsis. Since then, the moniker has evolved into a hard-hitting, tried and true rock band with the addition of vocalist/guitarist Emma Oakley and drummer Jason Hayes.
In 2022, the trio loaded themselves, gear and aspirations in a minivan and set out to rock faces and make new memories. At festivals alongside personal favorites like My Chemical Romance and The Smashing Pumpkins as well as headline dates crisscrossing between both coasts, they earned new fans with their big smiles, potty mouth humor and undeniably catchy two to three-minute rock anthems.
In between touring the band released three singles with the intent of moving closer and closer to a debut full length which they are now hard at work on. The third and final single of 2022, "Promise", landed a ton of support from Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora and a whopping 165 spins in one month on Sirius XM's Octane channel. Crooked Teeth closed out the year with sold-out support slots alongside Boys Like Girls and Dead Poet Society. With a new album on the horizon, the band is headed full steam toward chasing down big dreams and creating a family out of new fans.
