Exploding rock trio Beauty School Dropout have released their smash hit-packed sophomore album READY TO EAT, available to stream now on all DSPs worldwide via pioneering VC label Verswire. The album comes just ahead of the band’s U.S. headline tour, kicking off on Sunday 10.15 in Phoenix. The highly-anticipated follow up effort to 2022’s We Made Plans and God Laughed features a collection of radio-ready anthems, highlighted by “beautiful waste,” “one night stand you,” and their celebrated collab with Jaden Hossler (formerly known as jxdn), “FREAK.”
“READY TO EAT is the culmination of our high highs, low lows and everything in between. The album is a sonic spiral through our personal struggles with addiction, relationships and love (or lack thereof). The album is meant to be a reflection of our growth and our intentions to overcome every obstacle that life throws our way. From the last album to this one we have traveled the world, performed in places we never felt possible, gained fans all over but still have to deal with the trials and tribulations that are being a band putting 500% into our career. As much as it looks from the outside that our lives are skyrocketing, we are still dealing with the same issues we have been for years, only amplified. This album is our purge to our fans and an expansion and growth from where we started and a glimpse into where we are going.” - Beauty School Dropout
BSD have been non-stop road warriors throughout 2023, including the first leg of blink-182’s arena tour, opening for Matchbox Twenty in front of 16,000 fans, supporting Jaden Hossler on his U.S. tour, 4 shows at Lollapalooza (including the BMI stage in front of 3k fans), UK + European dates with Maggie Lindemann and Stand Atlantic, and Download Fest’s 20 Year Anniversary.
“The Blink tour was so surreal,” the band said in an interview with Fault Magazine. “Both Blink and Turnstile are quite literally our favorite bands ever. It was such an honor getting to know the two groups. It was so cool to see Blink’s synergy on stage and how clearly happy everyone is that Tom is back and Mark is healed.”
Beauty School Dropout was signed by A&R Mark Hoppus under the new label Verswire with Pete Wentz and Sherry Saeedi, and have been turning heads since 2022. Resurrecting heavy guitar tones, charging drums, and sticky melodies, the band simultaneously stays true to the relatable and timeless emotional lyrics we all love. Their debut album released last year, has currently garnered over 20 million streams and featured an amazing list of collaborative efforts including the feature of Mark Hoppus in “Almost Famous.” The creation of the album has had the band working with hit-making writers and producers, Andrew Goldstein, Inverness, Slush Puppy, Ryan Follese, Nash Overstreet, and Dan Book, along with game-changing collabs with Jaden Hossler, Royal & the Serpent, and others.
Mark Hoppus says on the band, “I’m always impressed by how hard these guys work, their talent and uncompromising creativity, and their dedication to their fans.”
