Formed by guitarist/vocalist Gianni Carpanzano, bassist Dave Eisermann, and drummer Marc Marenco, soft spot is a trio of graezy/grungy rockers from Stamford, Connecticut. With a mission to make listeners cry, soft spot is set to release its aptly named debut album This Will Make You Cry June 2025.

Drawing influence from iconic rock bands like Alice in Chains and Hum, Connecticut-based alternative rock trio soft spot has made an undeniable impact with its moody, expansive sound.

Fans will find themselves immersed in a dream-like sonic world upon pressing play on the new single. Brimming with hazy, shoegaze-inspired melodies and echoing vocals, the song boldly explores the anxiety that often comes with the process of moving on, opening ourselves up to experiencing life while at the same time carrying the weight of our previous heartbreaks, struggles, and disappointments.

"'Down' was written out of the fear of starting something new while you’re already bogged down by the things that have hurt you in the past." - Gianni Carpanzano, soft spot

"Down" is a relatable tale that anyone can relate to, and by hitting the soft spots in the hearts of fans, continues to solidify the band’s mission of making listeners cry.

Set to drop in June, This Will Make You Cry will feature "Down" along with the single "Loose" which was released alongside a music video filmed in soft spot’s hometown of Stamford, Connecticut, as well as the single "Screw It."

In addition to Carpanzano, soft spot is also formed by David Eisermann on bass and Marc Marenco on drums. Together, the trio has conquered stages such as Stamford’s Palace Theatre and Brooklyn’s Gold Sounds, and following its release show March 21 at Lorca Coffee Bar in Stamford, and they thrilled audiences in Connecticut with additional shows on March 28 at T’s Kitchen in Stamford and on April 6 at Three Sheets in New Haven.

As 2025 moves ahead, soft spot will continue to establish its presence in the New England music scene with a string of additional singles leading up to the release of its debut album, and will play a number of shows through the spring and summer.
